Role: Network Engineer
Location: Hamilton, ON

Duration: 2 month contract (urgent need and can start immediately)
Hourly Pay Rate: Negotiable
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on security engineering and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of security technologies such as Sentinel, Cisco Security (including Cisco ASA, Firepower) and Palo Alto (including Palo Alto Networks Firewall).
- Experience in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess the scope and impact of the data breach.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate the breach and prevent further unauthorized access.
- Conduct thorough security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation measures.
- Configure and manage security technologies such as Sentinel, Cisco Security, and Palo Alto to enhance the organization's defense mechanisms.
- Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Implement security best practices and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide expertise and guidance to IT teams on security-related matters and assist in resolving security-related issues.
- Participate in incident response exercises and contribute to the development of incident response plans.
- Stay informed about emerging threats and security trends and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks.
