Job Description
Position Overview
The
IT Specialist is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of our desktop workstations and user experience through help desk related activities. This role also brings with it the opportunity to participate in other activities and projects within the IT department with exposure beyond the help desk ticketing system. The IT Specialist will work alongside the other IT Department team to deliver a secure and responsive IT system to staff and external parties. Our team members work in various time zones across North America.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Information Technology and works alongside all departments companywide. The person in this role will receive requests and manage responses regarding cyber security issues from across the organization and will collaborate with these departments and external business partners and external security groups.
This role is best suited for a person with excellent organization, time management skills, and in-depth technical skills. They should enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. Cordelio will also consider candidates without industry experience interested in engaging in the rapidly evolving renewable energy industry. Applicants must be lawfully authorized to work in Canada.
This role is salaried, full-time, and in a hybrid work schedule with the required 2 or 3 in-office days on a weekly rotational basis with other team members. The remaining time would be work from home unless the candidate prefers a schedule with workdays exclusively in the office.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and manage help desk tickets. Raising tickets up through escalation to other team members as needed
- Work with external business partners to establish secure connectivity
- Contribute to a knowledge base within the company’s ticketing system
- Contribute to policies and procedures with the general IT departmental team where appropriate
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or certifications such as CompTIA A+, MCP, MCSA, or equivalent and demonstrable experience in a previous role
- 1-2 years relevant work experience
Experience And Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 environment
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, DNS
- Ability to lift or move up to 20 lbs. on occasion
- Experience in a corporate setting is considered an asset
- Basic hardware diagnostic experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to people of diverse backgrounds
Additional Success Factors
- Experience in the utility / OT network space is considered an asset
- Experience with Fortinet Products is considered an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Cloud Products is considered an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team with diverse educational backgrounds
- Ability to apply existing knowledge to new and unknown products
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to scale by taking on increasing responsibility as Cordelio grows
Travel Requirements
- Occasional: 5% for company related activities and industry conferences and as needed throughout North America

Compensation & Benefits
- The compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience
