Job Description

What will you work on?

The Security Intern will assist senior security analysts in the monitoring and analysis of security events and alerts generated by various security systems.

How will you create impact?

• Collaborate with senior analysts to investigate security incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
• Utilize ticketing systems like ServiceNow to log and track security incidents and requests, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery, under the guidance of senior analysts.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify potential weaknesses in the infrastructure, with guidance from senior analysts.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions, following the direction of senior analysts.
• Support senior analysts in evaluating new security technologies and tools, and provide input based on observations and research.
• Participate in security awareness training programs for employees, assisting in the preparation of materials and presentations.
• Contribute to the documentation of security processes, procedures, and findings, with guidance from senior analysts.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, with support and oversight from senior analysts.
  
  

What are your skills and experience?

• Available for hybrid work model, 3 days per week in office
• Must be able to work full-time as an intern
• Proficiency in networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security protocols would be a plus
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts such as zero trust, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), intrusion detection systems (IDS), eXtended Detection and Response (XDR), and threat intelligence is preferred
