We are looking to add a Network Administrator to our team in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the IT Administrator, this person will be responsible for managing and maintaining computer networks, installing and maintaining hardware and software systems, and collaborating with the global cross-functional team. Their role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the network infrastructure. Your expertise will also contribute to shaping efficient IT processes, refining maintenance approaches, and creating comprehensive documentation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, optimize and update the organization's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
  • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Deploy and maintain security measures across network infrastructure including VPN, Firewall, NAC.
  • Assess and update security protocols to address emerging threats.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems, hardware failures, and performance bottlenecks to ensure uninterrupted network operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux systems, software applications, and patches to ensure optimal performance and use best practices.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and other stakeholders for network-related problems ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Server hardware maintenance, and administer servers in multi-platform environments, including virtualization environments.
  • Maintain, configure, and update Microsoft 365 environment and implement best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address IT-related projects and initiatives.
  • Implement and oversee network backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN hardware and software issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in a Network Security role.
  • MCSE, CCNA or CCNP certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and subnetting.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and security principles.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with backup/restore solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
  • Results-driven mindset, initiative-taking, and strong attention to detail required.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex network issues efficiently.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Health & Safety conscious individual.
  • A commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

$51,000 - $65,000 a year

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted. We are in growth mode and are looking for talented folks at all levels, so please do not hesitate to apply.
