As a member of the Information & Digital Services team reporting to the Manager, Network & Telecom, the Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure supporting Nutrien's global operations. You will work closely with multiple business units and regions to develop innovative technology solutions that meet connectivity and performance requirements while providing guidance and support to our operational teams. To be successful you will need to collaborate with numerous IT teams across multiple technologies, build positive relationships and drive the IT vision and roadmap. This role requires someone with a desire to learn and can do so efficiently along with strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the design and implementation of network connectivity and voice solutions across business units and regions
  • Provide architectural guidance and technical expertise to internal and external teams
  • Develop and share in-depth knowledge of multiple network technologies
  • Provide technical leadership for network technologies
  • Provide advanced support to the Network Operations team
  • Develop processes, procedures, and documentation to support network technologies
  • Develop, implement, test and operationalize Network Services
  • Apply self-management techniques to include acting with integrity, demonstrating adaptability, and working efficiently

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 6-8 years of experience with expertise in designing and implementing large scale enterprise network solutions
  • Ability to lead a team of technical resources to meet project and support requirements
  • Demonstrated experience and success Engineering and Deploying LAN, WAN, Wireless Network, Network Security, and Enterprise Voice solutions.
  • Deep understanding and experience with the following technologies: Cisco (NXOS, IOS XR/XE), Advanced VPN (S2S/Client), Firewalls, ISE, Meraki, KEMP/F5, VXLAN, BGP, CUCM, Unity Connection, CER, SBC (Cisco + Audiocodes), Contact Center, Teams Enterprise Voice
  • Experience designing and maintaining global networks spanning urban and rural areas
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with process control networks in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of public peering, Internet Exchanges, IP Transit, Public IP design, etc. preferred
  • Understanding of public and private LTE networks
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in high pressure situations and successfully handle multiple competing priorities while displaying a high degree of flexibility and professionalism
  • Excellent understanding of infrastructure technologies and implementation
  • Ability to communicate at various levels from senior business stakeholders to technical subject matter experienced professionals in designing and developing technical solutions to business needs
  • Python or another scripting language would be an asset
