Hybrid Work Model

Job Description

The primary goal of the Cloud Network Operations Engineer is to ensure the smooth and secure operations of the Assent data networks, under the direction of the Manager, Security and Network Operations. As the Cloud Network Operations Engineer, you will work closely with the Network and Security Operations Team to design, manage, maintain, and secure the Assent global networks.

Key Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and administer AWS network services and technologies (AWS Network Firewall, Guard Duty, WAF, Transit Gateway, Site-to-site VPN, STNO).
  • Assist in the development and execution of long-term network architecture and operation strategies.
  • Determine network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements.
  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
  • Implement monitoring for network interconnectivity and remote networks.
  • Develop solutions that are reusable and can be broadly applied to common network problems.
  • Maintain effective relationships within the company.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Document and enforce network system standards.
  • Evaluate changes to the corporate environment for networks' impact and present findings to management.
  • Be familiar with corporate security policies and follow the guidance set out by processes and procedures of Assent.

Qualifications

We strongly value your talent and passion, but it would also be nice if you had the following experience and qualifications under your belt:

  • Experienced with the configuration and administration of AWS services, preferably within a large-scale, global environment, including AWS Network Firewall, Guard Duty, WAF, Transit Gateway, Site-to-site VPN, and STNO.
  • Experience with CICD pipelines and technologies like Jenkins, Terraform, and GIT considered advantageous.
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent, and relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CompTIA Network+) are desirable.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Please also be sure to mention any ZScaler ZPA/ZIA configuration and administration experience.
