Space Cyber Chief Engineer

Key Role:

Work as a Chief Engineer and Architect leading technical teams supporting a portfolio of space programs as subject matter expert in cybersecurity and architecture. Work closely with program leadership, customers, and the firm’s cross-functional teams to recommend, identify, and lead implementation of system architecture and cyber solutions to meet customer requirements advancing system performance and disruptive technologies. Act as a subject matter expert to define and implement the client’s mission, enterprise, and cybersecurity architecture and infrastructure. Leverage cybersecurity experience with specific focus on logging, security information and event management, security operations, incident response and detection, threat detection, vulnerability management, and cloud. Apply experience with business development and proposals to win new programs, providing expertise across the business development life cycle, including opportunity identification through shaping and capture and proposal and contract startup and execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with cybersecurity
  • 7+ years of experience with solutions architecture, software engineering, or systems engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with business development, including capture management, proposal management and development, and writing and editing in proposal style
  • Experience with cybersecurity data logging, including Network, Endpoint, Cloud, or Application
  • Experience with SOC and SIEM technologies, including Splunk and vulnerability management data, including Nessus, CVE, or Configuration
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture, and the application of Agile and DevSecOps practices, principles, and patterns
  • Knowledge of enterprise-scale architecture and the application to Cloud platform transformation
  • Ability to conduct technology assessments and market analysis, manage and lead multiple parallel technical delivery projects and teams across various challenging environments, and collaborate with senior firm leaders to foster positive client and vendor relationships
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree


Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI/ML and AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with signature detection, analytics, and SOC incident response procedures
  • Experience with SQL, including SQL Server, ETL, or Data Warehouse
  • Experience with data analytics technology, including Kafka, Spark, Benthos, Cribl, or AWS Kinesis
  • Experience with endpoint tools, including BigFix or McAfee ePO, and vulnerability scanners, including Security Center and Nessus
  • Experience with EDR tools, including Carbon Black or CrowdStrike, and IPS and firewall tools, including Checkpoint or Cisco
  • Experience with space domain
  • Knowledge of ground and mission systems
  • TS/SCI clearance preferred
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $158,800.00 to $295,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
