The Opportunity

Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a Senior Network Administrator to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the Senior Network Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the enterprise network systems (LAN/WAN, Data, Voice and Video over IP, and Wireless) both for non-Cloud and Azure Cloud environments. This position requires strong knowledge of routing and switching, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, QoS, Wi-Fi, Palo Alto Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPN’s and cloud and security solutions. The position requires an individual that knows how to troubleshoot, find solutions and get the job done. The position reports to the Director, IT Infrastructure and will be located in Toronto, ON.

What You'll Do

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN, Wireless, and WAN networks, with a focus on optimizing performance and security.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), ensuring robust network security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize cloud expertise, particularly with Microsoft Azure, to integrate and optimize cloud-based network infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage Cisco Nexus switches to support high-performance Data Centre networking requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support network solutions that meet business needs.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks or vulnerabilities, and implement proactive measures to maintain network health and stability

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network technologies, with at least 3 years specifically as a Network Administrator.
  • 2 years minimum hands-on experience working with Palo Alto NGFW in an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies, with preference given to candidates with experience in Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Cisco Nexus switches and related technologies.
  • Beneficial to have experience with Meraki SD-WAN and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or equivalent.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
