As a Software Architect within the Data Platform Group, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and implementation of data-driven solutions that power our entertainment and sports content delivery platforms. You will work at the intersection of technology and content, leveraging cutting-edge data technologies to drive business intelligence and insights.

Responsibilities:


  • Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance, and fault-tolerant software systems and data platforms.
  • AI and Machine Learning Integration: Design and implement AI and machine learning components into our data platforms to enable advanced analytics, personalization, and recommendation systems. Stay up to date with the latest AI and ML technologies and drive their adoption within the organization.
  • Technical Strategy: Define and implement technical strategies that align with the organization's goals and ensure the effective use of data for decision-making. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools that can enhance the efficiency and performance of our data and AI platforms.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, software developers, data scientists, and product managers to define and execute architectural roadmaps.
  • Innovation: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, data analytics, and cloud computing to drive innovation within the organization.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across various data sources.
  • Scalability and Performance: Identify opportunities to optimize system performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, data governance, and compliance standards.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain architectural documentation, including design diagrams, system specifications, and best practice guidelines.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering and architecture roles.
  • Proven experience in designing and building large-scale data platforms and systems including AI solutions.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Scala).
  • Strong knowledge of data storage technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases).
  • Expertise in cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with entertainment or media-related projects is a plus.


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica and Connecticut is $149,240 to $200,200 per year and in Seattle and New York City is $156,292 to $209,660 per year and in San Francisco is $163,426 to $219,230 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
