This is a Hybrid role working out of our Downtown Toronto Office.

Who you will be joining:

Joining our team as a System Administrator working hybrid from our Downtown Toronto office, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive IT support to ecobee employees, encompassing equipment procurement, onboarding processes, technology training, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. Additionally, you will contribute to the core IT infrastructure team, overseeing corporate servers and services both in our office and cloud infrastructure.

We are in search of a skilled System Administrator to provide internal IT support services to our ecobee team and contribute to the planning and execution of IT projects. Reporting directly to the Manager, IT, this role requires familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux-based systems, a strong grasp of fundamental information technology principles, and the capacity to enhance your technical expertise through guided training and self-directed learning.

Given the diverse interactions within this role, we are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable communication style and able to work hybrid from our Downtown Toronto Office.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux-based systems.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on Microsoft Office 365 and Entra ID.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms and identity management tools.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management Platforms.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Multitasking is second nature to you; you are comfortable working with multiple end users juggling many asks at once.
  • Entry level IT certification desired (A+, Network+, Security+, MCP, MCTS, CCNA, etc.)
  • Exposure to Windows Server, Unix/Linux, Networking equipment (firewalls, routers, switches)
  • Experience with virtualization (KVM, Xen, OpenStack) highly preferred.
  • Proven hands on experience with MDM platforms (JAMF, Meraki SM, InTune) preferred
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Just so you know: The hired candidate will be required to complete a background check.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Deploy and configure employee workstations.
  • Design and implementation of new IT initiatives & infrastructure upgrades.
  • Maintain inventories and warranties of IT assets.
  • Document equipment configurations, procedures, and guidelines to provide accurate information related to IT projects.
  • Administration, monitoring and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers and other core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Administration, maintenance, and monitoring of the corporate network infrastructure including Meraki and Aruba based solutions: firewall administration, switches, wireless access points/controllers and cabling.
  • Administration, maintenance, and monitoring of VMware virtualization environment.

  • A 45 minute phone call with a member of Talent Acquisition
  • A 90 mins in-person meeting with the hiring manager and other senior leaders you’ll work closely with. This interview has a technical focus.
