Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager II to lead complex IT and operational technology (OT) initiatives focused on enhancing Leak Detection, Control, and SCADA systems. This is a 1-year contract role suited for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings strong technical and project leadership expertise.
What's the Job?
- Manage multiple IT and OT projects with values up to $2MM, covering full project lifecycles from initiation through closeout.
- Apply PMBOK knowledge areas and process groups to optimize scope, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder value.
- Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with established PMO standards, processes, and documentation requirements.
- Lead change management activities to support seamless system deployment and integration while minimizing operational risk.
- Establish and guide OT project teams, coordinating closely with Leak Detection, Control Systems, Measurement, and SCADA subject matter experts.
- Prepare clear project mandates, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and ongoing performance analysis.
- Provide accurate and timely status reporting, dashboards, and presentations to senior leaders and key stakeholders.
- Identify, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies as required.
- Review and approve project deliverables to ensure quality, compliance, and readiness for operational use.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating project processes, conducting root-cause analysis, and proposing enhancements.
- Support governance, quality assurance, compliance standards, and financial tracking across assigned projects.
What's Needed?
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Computer Science from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5–10 years of progressive project management experience, depending on technical background and demonstrated capability.
- Strong understanding of IT and OT environments, including SCADA, control systems, network infrastructure, application development, and cybersecurity considerations.
- Familiarity with leak detection applications (such as Atmos, SPS, or MBS), pipeline modelling, and related testing practices is an asset.
- Experience working with pipeline systems and operational environments is considered an asset.
- PMP designation or similar project management certification is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, constraints, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
