Network Engineer

The Network Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, automation and management of the corporate network and related technical infrastructure as well as security devices and services. The Network Engineer also monitors and troubleshoots issues related to, firewalls, load balancers, wireless equipment, switches and routers across physical data centers and cloud hosting platforms (AWS).



WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Design, install, automate and manage all network infrastructure devices including switches, routers, firewalls, IPS, NAC, WAN, LAN, wireless access points/controllers, DNS, SSL Certificates, cabling, etc.
  • Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
  • Develop network roadmaps and align with overall infrastructure technology roadmaps.
  • Perform network modelling, analysis and planning. This includes network recovery in case of disaster or contingency.
  • Design, test, inspect data communications systems and implement network changes.
  • Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
  • Manage technology vendors.
  • Capacity and performance planning, overseeing software upgrades on production platforms.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and determine product direction
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation



WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience designing, implementing and supporting complex multi-site networks

Education/Training

  • University or College level and/or equivalent applicable IT experience.
  • Network/Security Related Certifications (Cisco, AWS etc)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of CISCO/FORTINET/F5/JUNIPER network hardware and software
  • Good working knowledge of UNIX and Windows systems software and hardware
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems and able to solve complex problems with multiple variables
  • Strong knowledge of MPLS, Routing, Switching, SD-WAN, Cloud Computing, Voice over IP and wireless technologies.
  • Strong experience in networking on multiple cloud platforms including AWS, along with deployment automation.
  • Strong knowledge of Firewalls, Load Balancers, DNS, and Security (e.g. IPS, ISE, etc.) products.
  • Experience with complex network infrastructure design
