Working with a team of security professionals from our SOC in Markham, you will be involved in deployment and integration activities, device management, policy management, event analysis and triage, service-level reporting and other security services related tasks.
Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Security Specialist with the IBM Canada SOC team, you will apply your technical expertise to support, implement and deploy Cloud & Infrastructure Security services for our clients. You will utilize your expert knowledge in infrastructure security elements to secure cloud and infrastructure environments.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Perform implementation and support of various cloud and infrastructure security solutions such as Next-gen firewalls, SASE, WAF, DDOS, Micro Segmentation, NAC, Cloud Workload Protection and Posture Management, etc.
- Create proof-of-concepts, design and execute implementation plans, testing plans, and deployment plans using security technology and solutions to meet client requirements.
- Offer technical guidance and assistance to clients and IBM personnel in multi-vendor, multi-protocol environments, ensuring the integrity and resilience of critical networks/systems.
- Work closely with development, services, and network teams to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of technical solutions provided for incident resolution.
- Test and validate the effectiveness of implemented security solutions to meet client requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform change and incident management outside of normal shift hours, as required.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a Security Operations role
- Eligible to obtain Canadian federal government security clearance Level 2 - Secret
- Expert Knowledge in Infrastructure Security: Experience with infrastructure security elements such as Next-gen firewalls, SASE, WAF, DDOS, Micro Segmentation, NAC, Cloud Workload Protection and Posture Management, to secure cloud and infrastructure environments.
- Security Technology and Solutions: Experience in designing and executing implementation plans, testing plans, and deployment plans using security technology and solutions to meet client requirements.
- Multi-Vendor Environment Expertise: Experience working in multi-vendor, multi-protocol environments, ensuring the integrity and resilience of critical networks/systems.
- Technical Solution Development: Experience in creating proof-of-concepts and collaborating with development, services, and network teams to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of technical solutions.
- Cloud and Infrastructure Security: Experience in implementing and deploying Cloud & Infrastructure Security services for clients, utilizing expert knowledge to secure cloud and infrastructure environments.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Advanced Security Certifications: Holding one or more security certifications. (Eg. CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, etc.).
- Technical certifications: Deep expertise and certifications from multiple leading vendors in Cloud and Infrastructure Security, such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, etc.
- Cloud Security Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing cloud security architectures, securing cloud and infrastructure environments for clients.
- Multi-Protocol Network Expertise: Experience working with various network protocols, ensuring the integrity and resilience of critical networks/systems in multi-vendor environments.
- Experience in other Cybersecurity services areas such as Identity and Access Management, and Data and Application security.
