Responsibilities
The Project Services department is responsible for delivering a wide range of IT infrastructure projects for our client in British Columbia. We are searching for one Senior Network Analyst to lead and work on projects to upgrade network equipment in acute hospital Communication rooms within the Lower Mainland. The candidate will require deep understanding of network protocols and configuration ability (Cisco, HP, and Arista). The candidate will be the technical lead of projects and work with a network core team to design and implement large and complex projects.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Perform site visits and assessments
- Create project documentation – Design document, Method of Procedure, As-built document.
- Ability to replace core switches. (Migration of settings from legacy to new, etc.)
- Ability to replace edge switches. (Migration of settings from legacy to new, etc.)
- Load-balancer (F5) configuration knowledge is an asset.
- Firewall (Palo Alto and Fortinet) configuration knowledge is an asset.
- Coordinate with vendor to replace a legacy Metro circuit with a new CE circuit.
- Support the vendor pre-field, staging, and implementation activities for circuit replacement.
- Coordinate vendor decommissioning of legacy Metro circuit.
- Site preparation for installation(s).
- Provide support with additional hardware components related to the work above.
- Physical labour related to the work above.
- Provide network implementation / production cut-over services outside of normal business hours, as required.
Qualifications
CCNP (R&S) Cert (CCNP certified with minimum 3 years of troubleshooting experience OR CCNA certified with min 5 years of troubleshooting experience)Routing and switching
Troubleshooting experience/Break fixes
Strong team player, self-motivated, highly organised and able to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential in order to interact with support groups, clients and vendors.
Experience and a sound understanding of network environments (TCP/IP, Cisco routers/switches, Firewall, Load Balancers, WiFi) including an excellent understanding of telecommunications concepts and connectivity.
Strong understanding of Switching and Routing - Cisco Catalyst Switches: 2950, 2960, 9200, 3750, 3850, 4500 series, 6500 series, Cisco Nexus 2k/5k/7k/9k
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load balancers, Aruba or Cisco WiFi, Cisco Viptela SDWAN, Cisco ACI, VMware NSX is a definite asset for this position.
Proficient in executing diagnostic techniques with a sound foundation of monitoring tools which include Tivoli ITNM, Vitalnet, SevOne, QIP, Netscout and Riverbed.
Virtualization, Cloud Computing, Network Security, VMware, AWS
Sound second level problem determination and problem source identification skills with regards to the various network technologies utilized within the company globally.
Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations
Technology Degree/Diploma or equivalent work experience
Must have Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification coupled with 5 years of experience
Palo Alto Network Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) and certification in MS Azure are a definite plus
