The IT Security Analyst I will be responsible for monitoring security events and assisting with incident response activities. This position is part of our Information Security team and will be involved with planning, deploying, and maintaining enterprise security tools such as EDR, SIEM, email security gateway, and vulnerability management.
What You Will Be Doing
- Security Monitoring and Incident Response
- Monitor security alerts and events to identify potential threats and incidents
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, conducting thorough analysis and providing timely resolution
- Alert tuning and generating reports
- Analyze phishing emails and malicious files and maintain IOCs with internal tools
- Use threat intelligence platforms to analyze and report new threats
- Vulnerability Management
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans and collaborate with teams to prioritize and perform remediation activities
- Security Infrastructure Management
- Assist with administering and maintaining security tools
- Collaborate with in-house teams to deploy or update tools
- Policy and Documentation
- Manage documentation related to monitoring standards and daily procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Security Awareness
- Assist by performing internal tests and helping keep staff informed of emerging threats and best practices
- Security Audits
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience as a security analyst or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of information security principles and best practices
- Experience with security tools such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical knowledge and experience with networking components, Windows, and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of the following:
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels
- Must be strong at working as part of a team and independently as required
- Ability to prioritize workload based on business needs
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field
- GIAC, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+ or other relevant security certifications
- Experience in securing large enterprise network environments
- 3+ years of experience preferred in a Security Administrator or Analyst role
