As a Cyber Security Engineer III, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, documenting, testing, and maintaining comprehensive cyber solutions. Complete Description
As a Cyber Security Engineer III, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate and analyze system architecture and security designs. You will support modifications related to the design and accreditation of new mission capabilities, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for applying an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate, and verify Cyber solutions across the lifecycle.
- Conduct cyber risk assessment activities including threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and analysis of mitigation solutions.
- Coordinates and addresses Supply Chain risk management concerns.
- Develop, evaluate, and analyze design constraints, trade-offs, and detailed system and security design as they pertain to the Cyber domain.
- Coordinate with Cyber and system architects and developers to provide oversight in the development of solutions.
- Conduct cybersecurity tests and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements.
- Employs cyber security processes, methods, techniques, and tools and ensures their consistent application.
- Implements appropriate Assessment and Authorization activities as required by customers.
Minimum Requirements
- Hands-on, solutions-oriented experience in the field of cybersecurity.
- Proficiency in RHEL and Windows systems.
- Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Experience in developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages.
- Knowledge of cyber-hardening operating systems (STIGS or similar).
- Familiarity with cyber-hardening network equipment such as switches, firewalls, and routers (STIGS or similar).
- Proficiency in tools such as Splunk, Regex, ACAS, HBSS, and Wireshark.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with NIST Special Publication 800-53.
- Familiarity with Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
- Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution.
- Knowledge of secure configuration and hardening of DoD Information Systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex cyber security principles to individuals with varying levels of knowledge and skill.
- Experience briefing high-level customer stakeholders on cyber security concerns and remediation tactics.
- DoD 8570 IAT II or III Certification.
- Ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements.
- Experience performing vulnerability assessments.
