Stratum Systems is a well-established, mid-sized Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Since 2007 we have delivered managed IT services, hardware solutions, cybersecurity, and proactive support to hundreds of businesses across the Lower Mainland. We are rapidly growing through new service offerings, hardware sales, and cybersecurity and are looking for an experience Senior IT Technician to join our team.
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic MSP setting with on-site/in office work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for desktops, servers, networks, and applications across Windows and Linux environments.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, Hyper-V, Office 365), networking (IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls), and enterprise tools.
- Perform proactive system monitoring, performance assessments, backup verification, and maintenance for multiple client environments.
- Manage service tickets, document work, maintain system records, and communicate directly with clients to develop tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with the team on projects including migrations, cybersecurity implementations, and new client onboarding.
- Participate in our 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Support hardware diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and occasional travel to client sites.
Requirements
- 5+ years of IT support experience, preferably in an MSP environment.
- Experience with the billable hours model.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems for workorder management and documentation.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Enterprise and Desktop technologies, networking concepts, and security best practices.
- Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer-service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Deep personal interest in technology and pride in quality work.
- Valid BC Driver’s License and ability to access equipment in varied locations.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with backup strategies, Linux (Debian), VOIP, or cybersecurity tools.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA).
