About the Opportunity
In partnership with a prestigious financial services institution, LRO Staffing is on the hunt for a Senior Cyber Analyst. The selected candidate will act as a mentor to a small team, leading cyber intrusion detection, forensic analysis, comprehensive security assessments and resolution of security incidents.
You will act as the primary escalation point for security monitoring and response. We are looking for a natural leader, who can deconstruct complex security challenges, churning out actionable insights.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Develop and enhance the organization’s cybersecurity program in partnership with IT and business risk owners
Provide expert guidance, leadership, and security awareness to embed strong security practices across teams
Advise on and support the development of security policies and controls (e.g., access management, incident response, patching, intrusion detection)
Mentor junior analysts and lead collaborative threat analysis sessions
Conduct advanced cyber threat monitoring, intrusion detection, and forensic investigations
Analyze emerging cyber threats and provide actionable insights to leadership
Prepare reports and briefing materials for senior stakeholders, including the CISO and Security Monitoring leadership
Design, implement, and continuously improve incident response playbooks
Leverage automation and AI to enhance detection and response capabilities
Collaborate with financial institutions, regulators, and external partners to address cybersecurity risks and incidents
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
8+ years’ experience across IT with a keen focus in cyber security
Post-secondary education (or equivalent experience) in computer science, information systems, or a related field
Hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, and threat hunting
Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
Experience with cyber threat intelligence sharing and analysis networks
Industry certifications (e.g., GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, CISSP, CISA) - considered assets
About the Job
This position offers a hybrid model (Ottawa or Toronto). The client offers a pension program along with exceptional benefits/perks. The salary band for this role is $88,500 to $118,000 per annum.
