Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified System And Network Specialist to join our IT team who will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting any issues across our data center and network infrastructure. The individual should be able to ensure optimal system performance, data integrity and security, with a strong focus on proactive monitoring and incident response. The individual should also be able to monitor the network's performance closely and have a plan in place if any data is missing or at risk. This position will request to work onsite in Richmond Hill.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first level support for server infrastructure (Azure Cloud, Head Office and Stores)
- Handling the Database architecture and performing the DB admin duties
- Monitor and audit server for performance, security, and availability; and take remedial actions as necessary to ensure ongoing system success
- Installation, configuration, update and maintenance of server software and hardware
- Protect data integrity and system security, including data back-up and record storage, system documentation, and a detailed disaster recovery plan
- Offer support for network infrastructure across our head office and stores, promptly addressing any arising issues
- Conduct continuous monitoring and auditing of network performance, security, and availability, taking appropriate remedial actions to sustain optimal system functionality
- Act as the primary resource for addressing/fixing system and network issues
- Provide on-site installation and maintenance services when required
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
- CompTIA A+ is a must
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in servers and networking
- In depth knowledge of Linux system (e.g. CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Strong experience with Azure and Kubernetes (AKS) is required
- Solid experience with Apache/Nginx, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, including installation, upgrade, and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge in Mail Exchange servers
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python
- Familiar with VMWare and Hypervisor virtualization environments
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols such as DNS, HTTPS, LDAPS, SMTP, and firewall configurations
- Hands-on experience with physical routers, switches and VLANs configuration (Cisco Meraki and Unifi equipment)
- In depth knowledge of cybersecurity in enterprise
- Generate and renew certificates on web servers and other network equipment
- Willingness to work off-hours as required for system upgrades and patching
- MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP certification a plus
