Position Overview
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of network infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and security. This role supports both project-based initiatives and ongoing operations, providing technical expertise in network architecture, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
The Network Engineer works closely with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure network solutions aligned with business and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless environments
- Configure and deploy network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
- Ensure network solutions align with security and performance standards
- Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including escalations
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Maintain uptime and service reliability in line with operational expectations
- Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls and access controls
- Support vulnerability remediation and patch management
- Ensure adherence to organizational security policies and best practices
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configurations
- Identify opportunities to improve network performance, scalability, and efficiency
- Contribute to process improvements and standardization efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and systems initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders
- Communicate effectively on network issues, risks, and solutions
Skills And Knowledge
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Experience with network hardware and firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar)
- Knowledge of network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Education And Experience
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise network environments
- Experience with cloud networking (e.g., Azure, AWS) is considered an asset
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent) are preferred
Compensation: $110,000 and $120,000 per year
