Our client, an Edmonton based utility company, is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join their Cyber Security team!Location: Edmonton Hybrid (M,F home) KEY SKILLS: This is a strong, individual contributor, technical Security Generalist (Jack-of-all-Trades) who has "seen/done it all" and can be a 'plug-and-play' resource for incidents across Server, Network, Firewall... a bit of everything!Joining a team of 4 members with a mix of Operations (escalations), Project (tool implementations, assessments), and Risk/Threat Assessments. Advanced tools/tech stack and autonomy to run projects as a 'go-to' individual What you will bring to the role Technical Skills:Advanced understanding of the TCP/IP protocol, including troubleshooting techniques such as packet capture and analysis.Network switches, routers, and firewalls.Next-Generation Firewall features.Alert queue prioritization and management.Incident investigation and response.Use of SIEM and EDR platforms.Vulnerability and patch management.Privileged access management. Windows Desktop and Server along with associated services and components.Familiarity with Linux or UNIX command-line.Leveraging remote administration and access tools.Ability to analyze and act on logs and events. Education:Diploma or Degree in Computing Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems. Degree in Business with extensive related experience will be considered.CISSP (or must be able to achieve CISSP certification within 2 years of employment).
