The Technology Regulation and iGaming Compliance Branch (TRCB) is seeking a Lead, Technology Risk, who will help to lead in the design, development and maintenance of an overarching process to identify risk as it relates to computerized technology in gaming, which includes electronic gaming as well as the newly regulated industry of internet gaming (iGaming). This position will be responsible for updating and writing technical standards that are clear and concise in what they mean to stakeholders.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Risks and Standards, the successful candidate will:

  • Utilize project management principles and techniques to develop, communicate and execute project plans for risk identification and in turn, standard creation and/or revision.
  • Develop and implement a data-centric approach to validate the effectiveness of technical standards
  • Be integral in creating and maintaining a research and innovation program to ensure TRCB is an industry leader as it pertains to technology regulation.
  • Keep abreast of best practices across regulated gaming jurisdictions and technical industries to identify relevant practices for consideration, as the risk landscape is ever evolving, and research and innovation are key.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • In-depth knowledge of computerized, software and electronics technology.
  • Expert level knowledge of risk identification, management, and analysis.
  • Well-developed communication skills, and strong written ability to generate clear documentation on outcome focused, risk based technical standards.
  • Experienced with data analysis, data visualization and related tools.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, delegating and overseeing team’s work, and leading positive change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.
