Cybersecurity Consultant
Location: Regina, Saskatchewan (Onsite)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional with strong expertise in cybersecurity architecture, strategic planning, and risk management to support a complex enterprise environment.
This role focuses on providing cybersecurity architecture and advisory support, translating technical risk into actionable guidance for both technical teams and leadership. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of enterprise cybersecurity posture and maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to cybersecurity strategic planning and enterprise risk management initiatives
- Design and implement cybersecurity and solutions architectures across complex, distributed environments
- Conduct and support Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs) and security assessments for enterprise initiatives
- Provide cybersecurity architecture and security requirements oversight for solution and service procurements
- Advise business and technical stakeholders on cybersecurity risks, controls, and mitigation strategies
- Develop and support cybersecurity roadmaps, vision papers, and maturity models
- Collaborate with technical teams and leadership to ensure alignment and buy-in for security initiatives
- Apply industry-standard security frameworks and methodologies to architecture and design decisions
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to inform architectural direction
- Support incident response and security advisory activities as required
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity strategic planning and risk management
- Proven experience in solutions architecture, cybersecurity architecture, and/or IT design
- Experience owning solution components or acting as a lead architect from design through implementation
- Strong understanding of formal IT and information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27002:2022, NIST, or equivalent)
- Experience designing and implementing cybersecurity architecture in complex, distributed enterprise environments
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with technical teams and leadership
- Experience briefing stakeholders and translating technical risk into business-aligned recommendations
- Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation
- Experience designing or supporting Zero Trust security architectures
Assets / Nice to Have
- Architecture or cybersecurity certifications such as TOGAF, SABSA, or equivalent
- Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CCSP
- Cloud security certifications (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)
- Formal training in a recognized IT design or architecture methodology
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical discipline
- Formal coursework or training in project management
Engagement Details
- Full-time engagement
- Initially expected to run for approximately 12 months, with the potential for extension based on organizational needs and performance

- 100% onsite role based in Regina, Saskatchewan
