We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive technical support to employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of various operating systems, and experience with network security protocols. The IT Support Specialist will play a vital role in maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency across our organization.
Duties
- Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, and mobile.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues related to computer hardware, networking equipment such as LANs, firewalls, and VPN connections.
- Assist users with software troubleshooting, including Microsoft Office applications and other enterprise software.
- Configure and maintain computer networking components including LANs, VPNs, and firewalls to ensure secure connectivity.
- Support operating system updates, software installations, and hardware upgrades to optimize system performance.
- Document technical procedures and solutions clearly for future reference.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues promptly while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Assist in maintaining cybersecurity measures by supporting firewall configurations and monitoring network security alerts.
- Website maintenance involving regularly updating, monitoring, and ensuring a website runs smoothly.
- Manage and maintain social media and job sites. (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles with knowledge of desktop support and computer networking.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows).
- Strong understanding of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of software troubleshooting processes for common enterprise applications like Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to configure and manage network security tools such as firewalls and VPNs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant vendor certifications are a plus but not required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
