About the Role:
Do you want to be on the frontline of the Cyber war? Does describing your job as being a cyberwarrior sound awesome or awe inspiring? Then you’re in luck! We’re looking for a tough son of a breach to join our team and knock our SOC off (see what we did there?!).
As a Security Analyst, you will help mitigate our clients’ risk of attack and immediately contain threats that do penetrate their defenses. You’ll provide insight on cyber threats, evaluate and report on network traffic and system logs as well as assist in Incident Detection and Response and Vulnerability Management for our Threat Management Solution clients.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the SOC’s initial point of contact for customer interactions
- Triage alerts, emails, and inbound calls to the SOC
- Evaluate incoming alerts and identify suspicious events and vulnerabilities
- Demonstrate the ability to follow playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Utilize ticketing systems and workflows to assign tasks accurately and efficiently
- Document and escalate incidents
- Utilize cyber defense tools to identify malicious activity
- Collaborate with the team to resolve issues, tweak current processes, and revamp existing SOPs
Technologies:
- Basic system or network administration experience.
- Experience and knowledge of information security, IPv4/v6 networks, network devices, proxies, IDS/IPS, and monitoring tools
- Knowledge of and exposure to SIEM software
- Experience with Windows OS
- Endpoint, Detection and Response (EDR) solution experience (FireEye, SentinelOne, Crowdstrike, etc.)
- Experience working with ticketing systems
- Demonstrated experience with 2 or 3 of the following:
- Packet Capture (PCAP) analysis
- Familiarity with commercial or open source log or SIEM solutions
- Event analysis, correlation, reporting, and alerting
- Host-based analysis/detection
Knowledge and Skills:
- Beginner level log analysis and review skills
- Passion for continuous growth within the Cybersecurity/Information technology field by accumulating certifications, degree's and or CPE's
- Analytical Thinking: Break down the fundamental components of a problem or situation, examine the relationship between them, verify all pertinent facts and draw an appropriate conclusion.
- Applied Technical Thinking: Able to apply specialized, theoretical knowledge to efficient operational uses.
- Capacity for Synthesis: Able to bring together disparate elements to create a coherent entity or a big-picture overview in order to gain a new perspective.
- Flexibility: Operate efficiently in constantly evolving environments and, when confronted with unforeseen circumstances, readjust priorities to accommodate change.
- Problem Solving: Able to identify problems, determine cause and effect, and propose solutions using new approaches or an innovative point of view.
- Sense of Urgency: Be prone to react quickly to outside demands, get onto things right away and get things done fast

You will likely be based out of one of our current locations: District of Columbia (DC), Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA), Indiana (IN), Florida (FL), and Texas (TX) however we are open to remote locations.
