Are you a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer with a passion for designing secure, scalable, and high-performance networks? In this role, you’ll architect and deploy LAN, WAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi topologies, manage advanced firewall configurations, and ensure network resilience aligned with PCI-DSS and Zero Trust principles.

This is a full-time, 100% on-site position based in North York, ON.
Network Architecture & Design
-
Design and deploy secure LAN, WAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi topologies for corporate and retail environments.

Architect and implement network segmentation (POS, corporate, guest Wi-Fi, IoT) aligned with PCI-DSS and Zero Trust principles.

Plan and execute scalable network rollouts using enterprise network management platforms, including:

Centralized network controllers or cloud management systems for configuration, monitoring, and multi-site visibility
-
Managed switches and wireless access points supporting PoE, VLAN tagging, and advanced QoS
-
Integrated edge services such as video surveillance, VoIP, and access control, where applicable
-
Produce and maintain detailed network documentation, topology maps, and configuration standards for all sites.

Support WAN connectivity (MPLS, SD-WAN, LTE failover) and hybrid integrations with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS).
Network Security
-
Manage and optimize firewalls, including advanced VPN, IDS/IPS, and content filtering configurations.

Integrate network security controls with enterprise security architecture, including firewall zones, network access control (NAC), VLAN enforcement, and segmentation policies.

Implement Network Access Control (NAC) and endpoint compliance integrations.
-
Conduct regular network vulnerability assessments and coordinate patching or remediation.
-
Contribute to incident response processes and align security controls with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 frameworks.
Operations & Monitoring
-
Maintain centralized Network Controllers for multi-site visibility and performance tuning.

Integrate network and security logs into centralized monitoring systems.
-
Proactively identify and remediate connectivity or performance issues before they impact operations.
-
Ensure redundancy, resilience, and optimized traffic routing for both wired and wireless networks.
-
Manage vendor relationships (ISPs, cabling, hardware suppliers) and enforce SLA performance.
Collaboration & Governance
-
Work closely with the IT leadership to enforce cybersecurity and compliance standards.

Collaborate with ERP, e-commerce, and store operations teams to ensure secure integrations.
-
Participate in change management, incident post-mortems, and disaster recovery planning.
-
Mentor junior IT team members on networking best practices and documentation standards.
Required
-
Flexibility to work full time on-site.
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
-
10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering, including multi-site environments.
-
Expert knowledge in:
-
Cisco Meraki or UniFi Network Ecosystem (Cloud Key Gen2, Dream Machine, Controller, UAP, Switches, VLANs, Protect, Talk)

Routing and Switching (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP, QoS)
-
Firewalls and VPNs (SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto)
-
Wireless design and tuning for high-density retail environments
-
Network segmentation, Zero Trust, and Network Access Control (NAC)
-
Monitoring and log management (Zabbix, Syslog, SIEM)
-
Solid experience with network documentation tools (Visio, Lucidchart) and CLI/scripting automation (Python, PowerShell)
Preferred
-
Professional certifications: Cisco CCNP Enterprise or equivalent advanced routing/switching experience, Network Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, EC-Council CEH, or equivalent experience.

Experience in retail or distributed multi-site environments (POS, IoT, and guest Wi-Fi management).

Demonstrating expertise in multi-site Wi-Fi design for retail environments.

Familiarity with Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid cloud models.
