What You Will Do
- Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
- Obtain, organize, clean and analyze oral health program data
- Analyze and interpret health-related data using relevant software and analytic tools including the use of geographic information systems
- Conduct technical analyses and prepare reports for health status monitoring, program planning, program evaluation, answering health questions, council reports or for responding to requests for information
- Conduct analyses using operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and program efficiencies to achieve program objectives
- Present data in useful, understandable formats including tables, charts, maps, customized reports, and data dashboards using a variety of software to explain complex issues and results to management, decision makers and partners
- Function as data guardian for oral health databases and to conduct data extraction, cleaning, and analysis of these data
- Adhere to all policies, standards, procedures and best practices within the program area and the Region including health information privacy
- Provide support to section staff regarding technical issues related to health data for program evaluations, research activities, mapping, operational issues, and other special projects
- Collaborate and provide analytic support to internal staff, including Program Supervisors and Managers, Health Promotion Officers, Community Development Workers, Epidemiology Team and Information Technology staff
- Collaborate with external partners include the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care and other health units
What The Role Requires
Educational Background/ Must Haves/Bonafide Job Requirements
- Completed BA or BSc preferably in Mathematics or Biostatistics or other related Public Health Sciences
- Two years of working experience related to Health Analyst role
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Solid understanding of public and community health issues
- Ability to coordinate collection and retrieval of health data
- Collaboration skills to synthesize, analyze and communcate epidemiological information from multiple sources
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient computer skills using SPSS/SAS, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and mapping software
- Team player who works well in collaborative setting
- Polished communicator with strong project management skills
- Organized, time management expert and ability to delegate when needed
Assets
- Knowledge of Oral Health Services and Programs in Peel and Ontario
- Knowledge of health-related databases including Oral Health Information Support System (OHISS)

Work Location In this role you will work out of the 7120 Hurontario Rd, Mississauga, ON worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary and is based on operational requirements.
