ABOUT THE ROLE
Southampton Solutions is hiring an experienced Security and Automation Lead to join our growing team.
We’re a hands-on Managed Service Provider (MSP) focused on delivering secure, reliable IT solutions to SMBs. As our client base grows, we need a senior technical professional to lead cybersecurity strategy, improve our security posture, streamline operations through automation, and support client security engagements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Security Leadership & Strategy
· Own and evolve our internal security posture.
· Stay current with emerging security trends and implement best practices.
· Conduct security assessments and present recommendations.
· Work within and towards established cybersecurity frameworks (ex CIS, NIST).
· Define and maintain secure configuration baselines.
· Develop and maintain security policies for internal environments.
· Assist in designing and implementing client security solutions.
· Lead and participate in security projects and handle security escalations from internal teams or clients.
· Support pre-sales opportunities related to security.
Automation & Efficiency
· Design and implement automation for patching, compliance, onboarding/offboarding, and monitoring.
· Develop scripts using PowerShell or similar tools.
· Use APIs and native integrations to connect security and automation tools for streamlined workflows.
· Drive continuous improvement of operational processes.
Implementation & Operations
· Evaluate, select, and manage security tools (Bitlocker, EDR, IAM, PAM, SIEM, SSO, vulnerability management).
· Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) and other RMM tools.
· Implement and monitor Microsoft Defender ATP and ITDR solutions.
· Configure and maintain internal network security standards (Next-Gen Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation).
· Secure wireless network technologies across client environments.
· Oversee disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning.
· Maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical
· Experience in multi-tenant environments.
· Previous management of Microsoft 365, including; Entra ID, Active Directory, Conditional Access, Intune, Defender, SharePoint, Teams, Email, and MFA.
· Implementation and use of Azure IaaS/PaaS.
· Proficiency in secure network design and Next-Generation Firewalls (Cisco or equivalent).
· Familiarity with RMM/PSA tools, EDR tools, BCDR platforms and SIEM platforms.
· Experience with SSO, SAML, IAM and PAM solutions.
· Hands-on experience with patch management tools and strategies.
· Working knowledge of APIs for tool integration and automation.
· Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell or other common industry scripting languages.
· Understanding of ITIL processes; incident, change, and problem management.
· Experience with Microsoft Purview and/or ConnectWise suite is/are an asset.
Work
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
· 5+ years in an IT security role, preferably in an MSP or multi-tenant environment.
· Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
· Valid Canadian driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.
· Provide an RCMP Criminal background check.
· Ability move IT equipment such as servers, workstations, etc. (up to 50 lbs).
· Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
· Positive attitude, ability to multitask, and work within a team.
Security and industry related certifications are definite assets.
