Health Analyst
Health Services - Public Health, Family Health
Status : (1) Regular, Full Time
Salary Range: $71,690 - $89,613 per annum

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

Peel Public Health aims to improve early child development outcomes for all children in Peel to promote lifelong health and well-being, reduce disparities and improve the health status of the population.
The Analyst will provide health data and analysis to support program planning, evaluation, and monitoring of Family Health programs. This includes development and maintenance of program dashboards and the reporting of data to inform Family Health priorities and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
What You Will Do In This Role
- Function as data guardian for Family Health databases
- Obtain, clean, organize and analyze Family Health program data
- Organize, analyze and interpret health-related and divisional and program related data using relevant software and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, ArcGIS, etc.)
- Conduct technical analyses and prepare reports for health status monitoring, program planning, program evaluation, answering health questions, council reports or for responding to requests for information
- Conduct analyses using operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and program efficiencies to achieve program objectives
- Present data in useful, understandable formats including tables, charts, maps, customized reports, and data dashboards using a variety of software to explain complex issues and results to management, decision makers and partners
- Update and maintain team procedural documents for Family Health databases
- Develop draft written material including commentaries, reports, summaries of data, technical reports, background documents, and correspondence
- Adhere to all policies, standards, procedures and best practices within the program area and the Region including health information privacy and data information practices
- Provide support to section staff regarding technical issues related to health data for program evaluations, research activities, mapping, operational issues, and other special projects
- Collaborate with leadership and internal staff to provide analytic support and determine data analysis needs
- Provide program updates to external partners including the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, Ministry of Children and Youth Services and other health units

What The Role Requires
- Completed BA or BSc preferably in Mathematics or Biostatistics or other related Public Health Sciences
- Minimum of three years of related working experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Understanding of health databases and related policies/methods and limitations
- Solid understanding of public and community health issues
- Knowledge of Family Health Services and Programs in Peel and Ontario
- Knowledge of health-related databases
- Epidemiology experience or education
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to coordinate collection and retrieval of health data
- Collaboration skills to synthesize, analyze and communicate epidemiological information from multiple sources
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SPSS/SAS, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, mapping software, Power BI, ARC GIS
- Team player who works well in collaborative setting
- Polished communicator with strong project management skills
- Organized, time management, strong problem-solving skills, expert and ability to delegate when needed

Work Mode & Job Location: at 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, ON
In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississaugaworksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
