Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Information Systems is responsible for managing our IT systems, security, capabilities, and IT strategy.
The VP, Information Systems leads a distributed team with staff located in Surrey, BC and Winnipeg, MB. The team consists of 9 members, with an annual operating budget (excluding payroll) of ~ $1.3MM.
They have 300+ employees located primarily in Canada, with global sales and service staff located in the US, UK, and Australia.
RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES
- Lead and mentor the IS team, supporting the needs of a growing organization
- Develop the company’s IS / IT strategic systems roadmap and policies, including the organization of data used to measure key performance indicators and benchmarks
- Maintain a comprehensive enterprise information security program to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of relevant data
- Prepare and monitor IS operational budgets, including managing external vendors
- Help determine capital investment parameters, priorities, and risks for enterprise wide IS initiatives to maximize the return on investment
- Ensure, on an ongoing basis, that current and planned technical architecture, investments and solutions are aligned with company business objectives
- Provide oversight of our safe development practices and our product cybersecurity initiatives
- Participate in Client Product Development process to provide feedback on proposed initiatives
- As a member of the senior leadership team, contribute to the formulation of strategic vision for the organization

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems or a related field
- More than ten years’ experience in information technology role, or related field; five years in management or leadership role
- Experience working as an IT / IS professional in a Manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with the selection, procurement, and implementation of new Information Systems
