We are currently seeking a Privacy Data Analyst (Remote Role in Canada) to join our team in Toronto, Ontario (CA-ON), Canada (CA).
Data Privacy Analyst – Position Description
The person in this role will support and assist from an operational perspective the implementation of the Company’s global data protection and privacy framework, applicable policies and procedures, and the related governance operating model. Such person should possess a practical understanding of data privacy requirements associated with such a role. The individual performing such role must have the ability to engage with other business and technology teams in order to assist with the implementing of corporate data privacy practices and procedures. Strong preference for candidates with experience with the OneTrust data privacy application.
Such person will work closely and collaboratively with the Data Privacy Operational Lead. The person in this role needs to have a broad knowledge of the operational aspects of computer software and hardware. Must be able to convey technical language to other stakeholders often in non-technical terms. The person in such role must likewise be collaborative, inquisitive, and have strong organizational skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, and the ability to handle large volumes of work in a highly matrixed organization. Such individual must further possess an “ownership mentality,” but simultaneously thrive as part of a team.
Depending on the candidate’s skill and experience, responsibilities may eventually expand to cover more strategic and additional responsibilities. This position is available immediately.
The duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Take the lead in managing the Company’s OneTrust Data Privacy tool by launching and tracking open assessments, running reports, responding to inquiries as to how the tool operates and be responsible for updating the data elements tied to assessments as needed.
- Ability to understand the technical aspects of applications and systems in order to assist as needed with data privacy assessments.
- Assist with developing and delivering training for responders to Data Privacy Assessments.
- Perform the initial review all data privacy assessments for valid and completeness of responses.
- Ability to implement new assessment templates within the OneTrust data privacy tool.
- Assist with gathering information from various internal teams associated with personal data flows in order to facilitate development of processing activity data maps.
- Support the data privacy operational lead in data subject request data gathering activities
- Develop supporting policy and procedural documentation to support OneTrust activities
- Support the business in responding to customer privacy questionnaires
Requirements For The Position
- College degree required with 1 to 5 years in the information technology industry preferred.
- 1 to 2 years data privacy experience preferred or demonstrated basic understanding of data privacy compliance.
- Broad understanding of information technology services and technical aspects of applications
- Ability to participate in multiple work streams in a resource-constrained environment.
- Problem-solving skills, professionalism and integrity necessary in order to be privy to sensitive, confidential, complex data protection/privacy issues.
