Aethon continues to grow and is looking to complement our team with Systems Administrator to join our growing IT team. This position be based in Burlington, Ontario. Salary range is $55,000 to $75,000 per year.
Position Overview:
The Systems administrator is part of the IT Support and Infrastructure team. Primary responsibilities include providing software, hardware, and network services, and first line support for Aethon production users. You will process requests for staff onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning for a wide variety of applications and subsystems across different departments within the organization. You will also be responsible for general Help Desk duties and project-based assignments as specified by the Manager.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the following functions:
- Provide technical expertise and support for production and office users on day-to-day basis. Support of all users across company in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand.
- Onboarding/Offboarding of users, including data management practices and requirements.
- Equipment Life-cycle management of end user devices.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- AWS data management using S3, EC2 and Deep Archive, Data lifecycle management, including archiving of > 1 PB.
- Maintain on-premises server infrastructure in Aethon offices in Canada, USA, and Australia
- Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running
- Take part in project work, planning and implementation of future IT development including but not limited to hardware, software, and network upgrades.
- Manage software subscriptions and maintenance.
- Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Review and manage customer-specific cyber security requirement, including implementation of controls as necessary.
- Ad hoc duties as assigned by the manager, ranging from a major system malfunction to a forgotten password.
- Moderate shift work and some weekend work during heavy production periods may be required.
Key Areas of Experience:
- Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, AzureAD.
- AWS S3, EC2, and Deep Archive administration.
- Domain (JumpCloud), Endpoint/MDM management.
- MDM management of iPads and mobile devices (Microsoft InTune).
- File Transfer and backup automation.
- Prior experience in supporting an ISO27001/SOC2 certified organization is an asset.
Qualifications:
- We are looking for someone with strong Windows and networking background, can operate in a multi-platform fast paced environment and is not afraid to venture into Linux and Mac OSX world.
- Possess Bachelor in Computer Science or comparable professional experience.
- Have advanced experience with Windows, and Linux platforms.
- Strong to advanced knowledge of virtual infrastructure, such as VMware vSphere Hypervisor, KVM and Proxmox.
- Strong knowledge and experience with storage infrastructure such as NAS (ZFS) platforms and their underlying transport protocols, iSCSI, CIFS, NFS.
- Experience with secure Internet file transport applications such as Signiant, Aspera, Resilio, and SFTP.
- Knowledge of databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Azure/AWS databases.
- Experience maintaining and/or deployment of Cluster/Cloud storage systems such as MooseFS, Minio, Ceph, and AWS S3 or similar would be considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills, highly organized and self-motivated, should be able to work unsupervised.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate within a team-based environment.
- Minimum 4 years full-time work experience as Systems Administrator.
