Level 2 IT Technician – Desktop Specialist
Location: Kitchener, ON (In person)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (with occasional after-hours/weekend rotation)
About Us
Reis Informatica is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) that’s been helping Canadian businesses thrive with rock-solid IT and cybersecurity since 2008. We solve tough tech challenges, protect businesses from threats, and keep things running smoothly. Our culture is simple: do the right thing, help each other win, care deeply, stay curious, and bring the passion.
The Role
We’re hiring a Level 2 IT Technician to build and deliver desktop and device solutions to clients. You will also be on our Service Desk team to provide first level technical support to clients.
If you’re the kind of person who loves digging into hardware, tweaking systems until they’re perfect, and making tech work better than before, this role is for you.
This isn’t about sitting back and waiting for tickets; it’s about taking ownership, solving problems, and driving improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for PC/Laptop repairs, builds, imaging, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and peripherals for both Windows and Apple environments.
- Provide excellent phone, remote, and onsite support—communicating clearly and professionally with clients.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft 365 and Azure AD accounts, Intune, and policies.
- Work with networking gear (switches, routers, Wi-Fi) beyond the basics.
- Assist with server-related tasks when required and escalate appropriately.
- Keep ticketing/documentation current; if it’s not documented, it didn’t happen.
- Continuously improve how desktop support and Bench operations are delivered.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years proven L2 IT support experience (MSP or busy support environment is ideal).
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ (a definite asset – preference given). Network+ or Microsoft certs a plus.
- Strong skills with hardware troubleshooting, imaging, builds, and repairs.
- Apple macOS experience (setup, troubleshooting, integration).
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft 365.
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
- Excellent communication, you can explain tech to non-tech people without condescension.
- Organized, self-driven, and reliable, you’ll run the Bench like it’s your own shop.
- A valid Ontario driver’s license.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with Linux systems.
- Familiarity with virtualization or server administration.
- MSP background: you already know the fast-paced, multi-client environment.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary
- Health benefits and vacation time.
- A role where you own your area and can build it into something excellent.
- Exposure to a wide range of industries, tools, and tech.
- Growth potential into senior engineering, cybersecurity, or leadership roles.
- A supportive team that takes the work seriously, but not themselves.
