Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Cybersecurity Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer networks, operating systems, and firewall management, along with hands-on experience in VoIP and CCTV systems. A cybersecurity certification and familiarity with cybersecurity standards will be considered strong assets. This role also requires strong report-writing ability to clearly communicate security assessments, incidents, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and secure network configurations.
- Monitor systems and networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur.
- Ensure security best practices are implemented across all servers and operating systems (Windows/Linux-based environments).
- Provide expert-level support and configuration for VoIP and CCTV systems, ensuring they are securely integrated into the network.
- Review and improve current cybersecurity policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
- Prepare detailed technical and executive-level reports on cybersecurity posture, vulnerabilities, audit findings, and incident response actions.
- Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and recommend upgrades or enhancements to security posture.
- Support internal and external audits related to cybersecurity compliance and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or IT (MSc, BSc or MEng, BEng.)
- Strong knowledge of Computer Networks, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPNs.
- Expertise in Server Operating Systems (Windows Server, Linux) and core services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.).
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or others).
- Familiarity with VoIP systems (e.g., Mitel, Cisco, etc) and CCTV systems (including networked video recording solutions).
- Excellent report-writing skills for security assessments, audits, and incident documentation.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and SIEM systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
