About The Role
The company bringing hotel bookings into the 21st century, Selfbook is looking for a Software Architect to join our team. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to grow the family of world-class hotels using Selfbook to simplify their payment and booking systems.
Your job will be to work on back-end related tasks including: setting all payment related integrations, payment gateways, security and fraud detection, payment verification and authorization, helping scale industry-changing products, and taking our infrastructure to the next level as we gear towards building a PSP (Payment Service Provider). In short, you will contribute to Selfbook’s rapid growth and expand the network of hotels making bookings easier than ever before.

What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain a fast, secure, and highly resilient payment platform written in Ruby
- Integrate our platform with partners to expand capabilities
- Evaluate, identify, and define improvements to the existing infrastructure
- Serve as a technical leader
- Establish and continuously improve engineering standards
- Coordinate across teams to move the needle on major initiatives
- Mentor and help develop the skills of other engineers
- Significantly contribute to large complex feature releases, usually multi-person, and multi-team
You’re Right for the Role If…
- You have 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- You are a clear expert in payment engineering
- You’ve demonstrated the ability to succeed in a wide range of complex situations across multiple axes (scale, uncertainty, complexity, etc)
- You’re a problem solver and are able to evaluate technical approaches to problems and provide viable alternative solutions
- You have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with our senior stakeholders
- You are an expert on Agile development methodologies
- Experience building high performance platforms and APIs

Salary Range
- $180,000 - $220,000 annually
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
