Job Summary And Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to inform and guide execution of our software development roadmap in support of Axos’ strategy. Reporting the Chief Architect, you will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development teams. This role requires a strong technical background and excellent software skills, including demonstrable experience in designing software and processes. The goal is to provide a framework for the development of systems that result in high quality solutions that meet business needs, are highly scalable, modular, maintainable, and extensible. Additionally, the ability to develop a unified vision and communicate that vision effectively at all levels of the organization from the developer through executive level is critical. This position is on-site and may be located in San Diego CA, Las Vegas NV, or Salt Lake, UT.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
- Collaborate with team members to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or application ensuring that software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility
- Communicate concepts and guidelines to development team
- Oversee progress of development teams to ensure consistency with initial design
- Troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace
- Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions
- Keep current on best practices in software development through continual research and collaborate with team members to determine best practices and requirements for software design, use of appropriate technology, development processes, and coding standards
- Oversee and support the coaching and training of team members to ensure all developers are skilled in design, construction, testing, and deployment of software systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years' designing and implementing software applications
- Proven experience as software architect working on large-scale software projects
- Excellent knowledge of web applications, message-oriented-middleware, cloud delivery of microservices, REST APIs, cybersecurity, software quality assurance principles, and more
- Experience designing and developing software in a variety of languages including C#, Java, PHP, ASPNetCore, JavaScript, JavaScript Frameworks, Native Mobile, Xamarin, and more
- Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling methods
- Experience overseeing customized development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional experience analyzing code for weaknesses, errors, and security vulnerabilities
- Experience overseeing plans to remediate and improve processes to prevent them
