We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join our security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents. You will play a critical role in protecting the organization’s information systems and data from cyber threats and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts for unusual or suspicious activity.
- Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage remediation efforts.
- Perform security audits and risk assessments across systems and networks.
- Maintain and update security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Assist in the implementation of cybersecurity training and awareness programs.
- Stay current with evolving threat landscapes, security technologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT, compliance, and other departments to ensure holistic cybersecurity coverage.
- Assist in incident response planning and participate in simulation exercises.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related technical field.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- CompTIA Security+
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of security tools and technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus, etc.)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and common protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
- Experience with vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys)
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
