As a result of significant growth, Systal have an exciting new opportunity to recruit a Network Engineer to join our NOC team in Canada. In this remote role the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our clients globally, as part of our Global Network Services team, helping to deliver several technical projects and services.
What will you be doing?
As a Network Engineer here at Systal you will undertake the following duties (including but not limited to):
- Working with senior team members to be able to carry out network design, specification, and configuration
- Responding promptly to alerts from the monitoring tools
- Troubleshooting network problems researching specific solutions and projects,
- Managing network changes in accordance with any required change management process
- Work with team to identify service improvements to process and procedure
- Proactively identify, own, and escalate any issue or problem that could affect customer experience
- Support & upskill 2nd line colleagues across managed service accounts
- Provide technical support to a range of Managed Service accounts
- Responsible for maintaining all levels of account access in accordance with the access management guidelines, across all Managed Service Accounts.
- Support all OOH Change activity for in scope Managed Service Accounts
- Escalate any high priority issues or any customer concerns to the relevant Senior On-Call Engineer / Service or Operations Leads/Management.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of Cisco CCNA and either progression or completion of CCNP qualification alongside the following:
- High level of knowledge of both networking and server-based hardware including blade and chassis hardware
- knowledge of operating systems such as Cisco IOS, Wintel products etc.
- Ability to apply configurations where required
- Experience of using console cables and telnet and fault finding and diagnosis
