Position Summary

Thrive seeks to hire an experienced and dynamic Area Vice President (AVP) to lead our high-performing sales team. As a key executive, this individual will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic client relationships, and leading a Sales Team to exceed performance targets. The ideal candidate will have experience guiding a sales teams in complex solution selling and have a proven record of exceeding sales targets and goals, ideally within the MSP, cloud, or cybersecurity space. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to achieving excellence in customer satisfaction and revenue generation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 5+ account managers and outside sales executives setting sales targets, performance metrics, and strategic goals aligned with the company’s objectives
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to retain existing clients and acquire new accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Work closely with the marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer experience
  • Conduct high-level negotiations with key clients, establishing and maintaining profitable and long-term relationships
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to anticipate potential opportunities or challenges, adjusting strategies accordingly
  • Prepare detailed reports on account status, forecasting, and business development, presenting to senior management and stakeholders
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting for the sales department, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize ROI
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and techniques through training, development, and the implementation of best practices
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking events to enhance business growth and the organization’s presence in the market

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field. An MBA is preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in sales or account management, with at least three years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving team performance in a competitive industry
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a keen ability to handle complex sales cycles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong client relationships
  • Experience working with clients in financial services preferred
