Responsibilities

Conduct cyber security operations. As a security operations (SecOps) analyst in a consulting firm, you will be responsible for monitoring and responding to security events for Valencia and our clients. You will respond to and investigate cyber security incidents and assist in containment, mitigation, and eradication measures, including after-hours if necessary. You’ll develop, review and test incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures, as well as help construct technical breach simulations.

You will stay abreast of cyber threat intelligence sources, including security forums, dark web sites, and intelligence feeds, for emerging threats relevant to our clients. You will provide informative and actionable advice, updates, and reports. You will conduct research and analysis of cybersecurity threats and issues in Valencia’s market sectors.

Additionally, you will provide technical cybersecurity consulting, assist with proposals to prospective clients, support risk analysts in conducting threat/risk assessments and security audits, and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in cybersecurity, computer science or other relevant discipline

Security certifications, such as Security+, CSA, GSEC, CISSP Associate

Experience in a SecOps or cybersecurity role

Strong knowledge of threat intelligence and SIEM tools (e.g., SentinelOne, MS Sentinel, Palo Alto)

Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and EDR/XDR tools

Knowledge of cloud security for Azure, AWS and Google Cloud

Knowledge of security frameworks, including NIST, CIS, and SANS
