The Director of IT will oversee all aspects of technology infrastructure, systems, and digital tools at Storkcraft. This individual will lead the IT department, ensuring the company’s IT systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with business goals. You will be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and maintaining technology solutions to support our growing needs in areas such as operations, finance, sales, and customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a technology roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives and growth.
  • Lead the IT department, including managing and developing a team of IT professionals.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to implement IT solutions that improve business efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT, especially within the manufacturing and omni-channel sectors.

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee the management of company-wide IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud-based systems.
  • Ensure all systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.

Cybersecurity & Data Protection

  • Establish and enforce policies for data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations (GDPR, etc.).
  • Proactively monitor systems for security vulnerabilities and lead efforts to mitigate risks.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.

Software Development & Systems Integrations

  • Ensure seamless connectivity between all of our internal and external systems.
  • Partner with developers and other internal stakeholders to troubleshoot technical challenges, optimize system performance, and streamline workflows.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and integration of enterprise applications, API’s, EDI’s, and any other third-party platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Commerce Hub, etc…)

Project Management & Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Manage the implementation of IT projects and ensure they meet timelines, budgets, and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments (e.g., Operations, Marketing, HR, Sales) to identify technology needs and implement solutions.

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide leadership and guidance for IT support, ensuring efficient resolution of hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Lead training and development initiatives to ensure all staff members are equipped with the tools and knowledge to use IT systems effectively.

Business Process Automation & Efficiency

  • Lead process automation, system integrations, and IT-enabled business improvements to reduce manual workflows
  • Identify opportunities to leverage cloud computing, AI, and machine learning to enhance decision-making and operations.
  • Work closely with leadership to evaluate new technologies that improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading software development teams and collaborating with engineers is an asset.
  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, or e-commerce industries is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, cloud services, ERP systems, and IT security protocols.
  • Proven experience with project management, vendor relations, and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
