About the Role
The IT Technician will be responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and monitoring the functioning of all of the company’s computers, laptops, and server systems. Also, undertake pre-emptive maintenance on telecommunication equipment, escalate issues which are unresolved, aid other resources in supporting different operating systems, besides Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN), and respond to phone calls, messages and e-mails relating to system issues or hardware problems. Additionally, the technician will manage all of the company’s cyber security.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for ordering assets from manufacturers
- Setting up laptops for new hires, ensuring all security measures are implemented (i.e., 2 factor authentication
- Ability to coordinate and ensure the handover of assets to the correct individual or location
- Work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure Cyber Security measures are current and maintained
- Oversee and manage threat model
- Answer internal queries concerning network, printing, and computer related issues.
- Contribute to planning efforts for disaster recovery, capacity expansion and component upgrading
- Contribute to efforts in multi-platform configuration and automation
- Produce and maintain documentation on installations, incidents, and procedures
- Install and configure tools for event monitoring, capacity planning, performance monitoring, etc.
- Make recommendations based on monitoring results and observations
- Level 1 and 2 troubleshooting and resolution of system problems
- Perform system software upgrades including scheduling, testing, and coordination
- Create and manage user accounts
- Participate in team meetings
- Contribute to general improvement projects of internal and external infrastructure and systems
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to translate technical issues to a business level understanding.
- 3+ years of technical experience with desktop support in a domain environment or demonstrable knowledge of such systems.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Extensive understanding of MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of remote access applications and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and laptops
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to synthesize and apply new technical information.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Keen attention to detail, with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Practical experience with Windows 7, 8 or 10 Operating System in a domain environment.
- Practical experience with Mac IOS Operating System in a domain environment.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Office 365 in a Microsoft Exchange environment.
- Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions
Remote work but may be required to visit onsite facilities. Must possess a full G license and own vehicle. Negative criminal check. Must be fluent in English. The Employee shall supply their own mobile phone. The employer will provide a laptop and required computer software for the duration of the employment term.
Travel
Candidate should be willing and able to travel 25% of the time or as required.
