Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Supervisor, EMR Services, the EMR Analyst will support the Supervisor, EMR Services as a subject matter expert in all aspects of the EMR and associated systems. This includes design and customization, training and implementation, reporting, system maintenance and quality assurance.
*This role requires a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (reimbursed mileage) *
Principal Responsibilities:
- Gathering, organizing, and evaluating relevant information, such as current clinical workflows and current system specifications.
- Communicating with internal stakeholders and conducting interviews as necessary to understand current practices and how they will translate into the new system(s).
- Communicating with external software vendors to ensure a seamless end user experience.
- Assisting with project management at multiple stages, including the research, testing and implementation of systems.
- Creation of training plans for use in the training of individuals and teams.
- Training and implementation of new features and additions to the EMR system(s).
- Complex report creation, management, and scheduling and distribution for various teams.
- Creation of a quality assurance program for use with the new system(s).
- Creation of custom forms for use within the EMR and related systems.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
- College or University degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Bilingual (French and English) spoken and written (100% essential)
- Clinical and technical experience, including familiarity with both staff & physician workflows in a primary care setting.
- Experience with Telus Health EMR(s), QHR Accuro, Omnimed or MedFar EMRs a strong asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Adaptable and willing to learn new skills.
- Superior customer service skills, with emphasis on communication both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a very demanding and fast paced team environment, with minimal supervision.
- Most possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to clinics and home offices.
- Awareness of applicable data privacy practices and laws. (GDPR, HIA, PIPEDA, PHIPA, PCI)
Context and Environment:
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure and complex technical environment that requires attention to detail and provide sound support. The ability to sit at a computer, view a computer monitor, and use a telephone headset for an extended period. May be required to work unconventional hours, weekends, holidays, late nights, or early mornings. Able to employ professionalism, patience and self-control in handling upset customers and high stress situations. Will require occasional travel to the clinics, including travel to various cities in Canada. Must be able to pass both internal and government mandated security screenings.
