In this role, your primary job will be to manage client engagements privacy management programme using the 9ine Privacy Platform.
Our clients are based in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America. We're looking for candidates with broad and also specialist privacy expertise who can adapt, research and show accountability for understanding local and global privacy obligations.Specific to this role is experience in North American privacy law, either US, Canada or both.
Full Role Description
The Senior Data Privacy & Protection Consultant will be responsible for the delivery of our services to our large and complex clients, with a specialism in Data Privacy & Protection. You will also be responsible for delivering bespoke and tailored consultancy based on the needs of our clients. The candidate will proactively deliver privacy management programmes working closely with our clients and our colleagues to oversee and manage the delivery of our services. You will also proactively support, guide and train more junior staff within the consultancy team to ensure our clients are receiving the best service. You will provide suggestions and areas of improvement back into the business to help improve our offering and services.
The successful candidate must have a broad depth of experience of working with data protection laws and regulations, delivering client facing services to actively progress a structured privacy programme. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a consultative and collaborative approach to working.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Working with multiple clients to proactively lead, scope and deliver solutions aligned with their strategic needs and the product offering.
- Working closely with the wider consultancy team to ensure our products and services are aligned to the needs of our clients and the client receives a uniform experience.
- Managing multiple concurrent clients, whilst prioritising tasks and achieving key deadlines and deliverables in-line with agreed scope and budgets.
- Proactively documenting and governing deliverables in the relevant systems and frameworks as per our business standards.
- Ensuring deliverables are achieved in the most appropriate and timely manner.
- Planning and scheduling the delivery of work and identifying where client input is required.
- Proactively supporting junior consultants and consultants.
- Educating staff members and creating awareness within your specialism through training.
- Providing quality assurance over internal client deliverables and external client products.
- Providing quality assurance of written outputs in-line with business standards.
- Presenting both written and verbal outputs directly to clients in a clear and concise manner demonstrating communication expertise to manage diverse stakeholder interests.
- Delivering effective, added value solutions based on a client's strategy and goals.
- Delivering our services in line with industry best practice and regulatory obligations of our clients.
- Working with all stakeholders to understand a client’s ongoing requirements to support in the identification of sales and new business opportunities.
- Proactively working with the business development team and calling upon their support as required, and providing support to them as necessary.
- Providing suggestions and areas of improvement back into the business to help improve our products and services.
- Providing regular briefings about client risks and issues which affect our business relationship and could impact the future aspirations of our business.
- Creating and delivering wider client engagement activities such as webinars and training sessions.
- Maintaining internal standards and documentation associated with areas of responsibility.
- Researching new laws, regulator guidance and best practice and ensuring that client service delivery is reflected accordingly.
- Creating, developing and providing feedback on intellectual property and other resources.
Skills and Experience
- 4+ years working in data protection or information governance.
- Strong understanding of data protection law and best practice in at least one major jurisdiction.
- A background in law or compliance is preferable.
- Professional certifications preferred e.g. CIPP/E, CIPP/A, CIPM.
