Air Canada is seeking an experienced and dynamic senior leader to adapt, mature and transform a core part of the cyber security program that will support all steady state operations related to incident response, fraud, access, and defense technologies. This role has high visibility and requires a strong technical leader who can partner with key stakeholders including other leaders within IT as well as business leaders within the organization to mitigate risks. This key leadership position will report to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and will focus on automation, analytics, cloud acceleration, and advanced threat analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of cyber security experts in the areas of incident response, fraud, PKI, vulnerability management, access management, endpoint and network security.
- Provide direction for cybersecurity programs, strategy, and technologies to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate and customer information assets.
- Responsible for the development and oversight of a multi-year technology roadmap that addresses current and future cyber risks.
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners that supports the day-to-day and 24x7 operational functions within the team and act as the main escalation point for all incident response activities.
- Promote IT’s vision, and track, report and optimize operational effectiveness of the team with custom developed KPI’s and SLA’s.
- Oversee capacity and performance management of cybersecurity platform to identify positive and negative trends and drive any needed changes in direction.
- Oversee regulatory, audit, assurance, and risk reporting to ensure industry compliance.
- Establish oversight process to assure complete transparency into risks identified and progress toward remediation.
- Promote focus on expanding cybersecurity framework and comprehensive assessments.
- Create a culture of innovation that grows and develops the team while attracting talent from outside the organization.
- Develop and communicate organizational objectives; inspire and motivate team members to achieve results.
- Work in partnership with Business and IT senior leaders on strategic initiatives to continuously improve policies, standards, and procedures by anticipating issues, providing advice and sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Responsible for an annual technology budget of $10M.
Qualifications
- A relevant University degree/technical certification and/or relevant experience.
- 15-20 years experience in IT in a large company, in positions of leadership.
- Significant knowledge of cyber security with demonstrated capability in operating highly technical teams in the areas of IAM, fraud, vulnerability management, data protection, network security, endpoint security, PKI, and disaster recovery.
- A self starter with critical thinking, analytical approach, business acumen and decision-making competencies.
- A strong sense of urgency, customer advocacy and drive for results.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- A team player and proven leader with excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative attitude.
- Relevant operations experience with running 24x7 teams.
- Leadership of a large team of technology experts and experience with strong management of outsourcing partners.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiating conflict and problem solving to achieve win-win outcomes at executive levels.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to gather information from disparate sources to identify trends/gaps and build solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with the airline industry is an asset, and transportation/logistics background is also an asset.
