CIHI is seeking a skilled and highly respected strategic leader to join its Executive Team as Vice President & CIO.
The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides essential information on Canada’s health systems and the health of Canadians. CIHI has earned the trust of health systems as the main gatherer, packager, and disseminator of health information. To succeed in this role, CIHI has evolved to be both a knowledge leader and a service provider — in tune with the health systems’ needs while setting the pace on data privacy, security, accessibility and innovation.
What You'll Do
Reporting to CIHI’s President & CEO, the essence of the VP & CIO role is to enable CIHI’s overall business strategy and planning, to support business transformation, lead technological change initiatives, and operate a highly professional security management program. The CIO leads a department of close to 150 staff and 75 consultants that are key to achieving CIHI’s goals. The CIO collaborates closely with colleagues across the organization and provides strategic and operational direction for enterprise architecture, data, information and product management, IT security and compliance, and cloud technologies. The CIO develops and maintains creative partnerships and represents CIHI externally as its main technological ambassador to stakeholders, partners, vendors, governments, etc., while championing the role and value of quality health information.
What You'll Bring To The Table
As the ideal VP & CIO candidate, you are an inspiring and inclusive team leader, an experienced change manager, and a trusted and credible partner. You are a strategic driver with excellent communication skills and a strong business acumen who understands how technology can enable business success. You hold a graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a relevant field, and bring several years of progressive leadership experience in a CIO or equivalent senior strategic management role in healthcare or a related field.
