TBC is seeking to hire a part time instructor for our Cyber Security program. The courses will be delivered on campus to international students.
Disciplines within the program include:
- Computer Network Design and Implementation
- Cyber-Security Principles and Best Practices in Canada
- Information Security Fundamentals
- Introduction to Computer Programming
- Introduction to Networking and Data Communication
- Cloud Security
- Cryptography and Data Encryption
- Implementing Security Policies in Operating Systems
- Wireless Communication and Mobile Security
- eCommerce and Web Security
Instructor Responsibilities:
- Ensure that course curricula are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices within relevant professional/program disciplines
- Upload grades and comments on the Learning Management System in a timely fashion
- Create an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles
- Implement course learning outcomes and assessment strategies, ensuring that they support and reflect program goals
- Assure that students are aware of all relevant learning outcomes, learning strategies and assessment techniques
- Assess student achievement of learning outcomes and support student progress through academic counselling and timely feedback
- Develop multimedia materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporate appropriate educational technologies into the learning process
Qualifications:
- Completion of a degree in a related field. Recognized industry credentials also considered assets
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience; facilitating learning at the postsecondary/adult level demonstrating a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning is a strong asset
- Theoretically and practically comfortable with the requisite hardware, software, and networking equipment used in lab settings
- Excellent grounding in best practice and emerging knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field
- A commitment to lifelong learning in the field
- A proven ability to work within a collaborative environment, demonstrating flexibility
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Advanced computer literacy and a demonstrated willingness to acquire and use learning tools (such as the college’s LMS) commensurate with departmental requirements
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and problem-solving, conflict and stress management skills
- An ability to apply an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the needs of a diverse student population
