WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
RBC’s Cyber Technology Office is responsible for securing RBC assets in Public Cloud. We are looking for a Data Engineer who could use the power of data to tell compelling stories to enable ‘Data Driven Decisions’ and identify complex patterns. We want to utilize the power of data to answer questions such as ‘Where is the gap in our Security controls on cloud?’, ‘Where should be the next focus of our engineering team to mitigate risks?’ etc.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Design and implement Data Models to store and process data in to solve critical business problems.
- Design and implement database objects (Tables, Stored Procedures, Queries)
- Partner with ETL engineers to design data ingestion pipelines
- Partner with Cloud Security engineers to identify data sources, validate data quality and make sense of data patterns
- Strategies migration of data to Cloud from On-prem data sources
- Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have
- Solid background in SQL, Data Models, Datawarehouse
- Proficient in database design concepts
- Proficient in ETL architecture
- Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.
- A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Nice-to-have:
- Proficiency in AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with Cyber Security Concepts
