Join the dynamic Technology and Innovation’s Enterprise Information Security team at Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) as an Information Security Solution Architect. In this pivotal role that we currently have available, you will work alongside a talented team of 6+ associates who play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s digital landscape.
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Information Security, the Information Security Solution Architect will develop and implement domain-specific security solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on creating detailed security designs, integrating security controls within IS projects, collaborating with technical and business teams to address specific security needs, and supporting vendor solution implementations. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide technical guidance, contribute to compliance efforts through policy adherence and audits, and assist in incident response by delivering tactical recommendations and solutions.

What You’ll be Doing:
Security Governance & Compliance
- Conduct security architecture assessments of IS systems and cloud environments, identifying risks, providing actionable recommendations, and ensuring alignment with industry frameworks such as NIST, ISF, and SOX
- Drive the development and refinement of security policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and business objectives
- Support compliance efforts by architecting and integrating critical security controls, advising on audit readiness, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and operational security requirements
- Partner with cross-functional teams to embed security requirements into technical solutions, ensuring security controls are effectively designed and implemented
- Coordinate in the development of security awareness training programs
Technology Strategy & Vendor Management
- Assess, recommend, and architect security solutions tailored to specific domains, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems and operational frameworks
- Collaborate on vendor assessments, define security requirements within contracts, and monitor service delivery using well-defined KPIs aligned with organizational security goals
- Develop and maintain security solution roadmaps, ensuring alignment with long-term enterprise security strategy and evolving threat landscapes
Project Leadership & Collaboration
- Execute security-driven projects, ensuring solutions are architected to align with enterprise-wide security objectives and industry best practices
- Collaborate with IS, business teams, and external partners to embed security architecture principles throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC) and operational workflows
- Support the evaluation and strategic adoption of advanced security technologies, guiding teams through solution design, deployment, and enterprise integration
- Advise on security incident response strategies, ensuring resolution efforts align with long-term security architecture and risk management objectives
What You’ll Bring:
- University Degree or College Diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Information Security and Solution Architecture roles, focusing on enterprise security strategy, designing and implementing secure IS solutions, risk management, compliance, security operations, incident response, and security control assessments
- Cybersecurity Industry certification (ISC2, SANS, SABSA, CISM, CISA, CCSK, Vendor Cloud Certifications), minimum 1 required; multiple certifications is an asset
- Skilled in designing and implementing targeted security solutions for hybrid (cloud and on-prem) environments, ensuring alignment with specific business and technical requirements
- Ability to incorporate industry standards such as NIST, ISF, and SDLC into solution designs
- Experience conducting threat assessments to inform security control improvements and operational policies
- Ability to develop solutions for SSO, MFA, and role-based access to safeguard system access and user authentication
- Ability to assist in response planning to address and mitigate potential security incidents using threat intelligence insights
- Hands-on expertise in security tools including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, WAF, DLP, and vulnerability scanners
- Collaboration with Security, IS, and business units to design and implement domain-specific security architectures that align with operational needs
- Experience driving security initiatives focused on automation, process improvement, and addressing security gaps, including the deployment of effective controls within project-specific contexts
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication to guide technical and non-technical stakeholders in understanding and adopting secure practices, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams
