Job Description
At BBA, we strive to implement highly secure, reliable, and robust ICS (Industrial Control Systems) systems for our industrial clients. BBA’s ICS Cybersecurity team designs and implements innovative and practical solutions that often exceed client’s expectations in meeting operational requirements.
The candidate will work hands-on in a multidisciplinary team with complementary expertise in the fields of cybersecurity, industrial technologies, OT infrastructure, OT systems programming and integration, automation/instrumentation and control, advanced control and optimization, and digital power systems/energy management systems. This makes for a vibrant work environment where the candidate can quickly learn many new things and contribute significantly to major industrial projects.
The candidate will perform assessments, feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and detailed engineering for ICS Cybersecurity projects in the oil & gas, utility, and mining sectors. The candidate will also design, implement, configure, and support the operation of the ICS / OT systems. In addition, this role will oversee governance, documentation, and compliance with a focus on quality and rigor.
The responsibilities of this role include performing the following activities to the highest quality:

Work collaboratively with clients, project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters in preparing deliverables to BBA and client standards

Prepare and review deliverables such as assessments, studies, reports, estimates, budgets, schedules, implementation plans, drawings, calculations, specifications, quotations, proposals, presentations, etc.

Develop policies, procedures, and documents in all areas of cybersecurity and physical security, while applying best practices and international cybersecurity standards (NERC CIP, ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST)

Conduct cyber and physical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and provide recommendations

Seeking out and assessing technological solutions that fit with client needs and reflect market availability

Participate in on-site work, if required.

Opportunity to work with latest technology: The successful candidate will be given a customized mandate to work on the Industrial Cybersecurity Lab and/or the Digital Power Systems Labs. These are cutting-edge labs and provide a hands-on development and learning opportunity to work with systems and technologies that we deploy for our clients.

Requirements

In the 3rd or 4th year of a relevant engineering degree (e.g. Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related area)

Excellent communication skills with high competency in English (both verbal and written)

Knowledge of industrial devices such as PLCs, DCS, HMIs, IEDs, RTUs, and SCADA systems
-
Knowledge of the NERC CIP standard and good cybersecurity practices

Awareness of industrial network architectures

Familiar with virtualization (e.g. VMware) and cloud platforms

Familiar with electrical drawings (schematic, wiring, and layout)

Interest in manufacturing, industrial automation, and working in a production environment
